As the latest Covid-19 epidemiological clarification by the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) shows, the source of infection was clarified in 72.8 percent of 8,088 coronavirus cases that occurred in the period from August 15 to 22. Of these, 43.8 percent were attributable to households, and 38.4 percent were travel-associated.
38.4 percent of new infections due to travel
In contrast, the leisure sector accounted for only 8.8 percent of infections, hotels and restaurants for 3.5 percent, and work for 2.7 percent. Arts and culture made almost no contribution at all to the incidence of infection, accounting for 0.7 percent, and the health and social services sector 0.6 percent.
28.8 percent of Corona infections are asymptomatic
The considerable proportion of asymptomatic cases is striking. At 28.8 percent, this was significantly higher than in previous weeks. A total of 3,943 cluster cases were counted. This was more than twice as many as two weeks earlier – evidence that the highly infectious delta variant now dominates corona activity.
